A global health threat, if the health community and policymakers do not take urgent action, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is in line to cause approximately 10 million fatalities per year by 2050.

Scientists are developing assays that are more commonly associated with the physical sciences than with microbiology labs to identify the pathogen and AST simultaneously.
