This includes wearing masks, practicing social distancing, washing hands frequently, and getting vaccinated. Influenza: With the change in weather, the flu virus tends to become more active. It's important to get vaccinated against the flu to reduce the risk of contracting it. Other preventive measures include washing hands frequently, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home if you're feeling sick. Allergies: Spring is a prime season for allergies. To reduce the risk of allergies, avoid spending time outdoors during peak pollen hours and keep windows and doors closed to prevent pollen from entering your home. Taking antihistamines or other allergy medications can also help alleviate symptoms. Norovirus: Norovirus is a highly contagious virus that causes stomach and intestinal inflammation. To prevent norovirus, wash hands frequently, avoid touching your face, and avoid sharing personal items such as towels or utensils. Lyme disease: With the increase in outdoor activities during spring, the risk of tick bites and Lyme disease also increases. To reduce the risk of Lyme disease, wear long-sleeved shirts and pants, use insect repellent, and check yourself for ticks after spending time outdoors.
